I discovered the Kidd’s Toy Museum, Portland when I read Chuck Palahniuk’s book Fugitives and Refugees: A Walk in Portland, Oregon.
It houses a collection of toys by lifelong collector by Frank Kidd.
He started by collecting automotive toys and branched out into all sorts of mechanical beauties.
Today, the collection consists mainly of toys from the period encompassing 1869 to 1939.
Its a great place, quite tricky to find, but as you can see, makes for some wonderful images!
There is a huge collection of mechanical banks as well, the ones where you twist the ear and the mouth swallows the loot.
Definitely my kind of museum!
